Russia Destroyed The Last Remaining Bridge Leading To Sievierodonetsk In Ukraine

Russian forces destroy the last remaining bridge leading to Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine, trapping all remaining Ukrainian soldiers in the city, according to regional governor Serhiy Haidai.

Sievierodonetsk is a city in the Luhansk Oblast of Ukraine, located to the northeast of the left bank of the Siverskyi Donets river and approximately 110 km to the northwest from the Oblast capital, Luhansk. It is the second most populous city in the oblast. Sievierodonetsk is a city of regional significance. It is currently partially occupied by Russia and the Luhansk People’s Republic. Since 2014, Sievierodonetsk has served as the administrative center of Luhansk Oblast. As part of the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine,
Sievierodonetsk has come under attack from Russian forces during the Battle of Donbas.

Earlier, Russian occupying forces already destroyed two of the three bridges leading to Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast. Russian forces also destroyed the last remaining bridge to Ukraine’s eastern frontline city of Sievierodonetsk. All bridges leading to the regional center had been destroyed. According to regional governor Serhiy Haidai, Russian force trapped all remaining Ukrainian soldiers in the city. Evacuation from the city is impossible and also delivery of humanitarian supplies are not possible now. The civilians of Sievierodonetsk who have remained in the city are surviving in extremely critical conditions.
